They've helped to polarize the Church in so many ways.

Oh I may wait to post till tomorrow. Today's Mass was so lovely and all about Love. I hope people listened to the readings today. :-)

God blessMariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12743644644608446685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129501435638030796.post-69394650091578251892009-05-17T18:17:00.000-06:002009-05-17T18:17:00.000-06:00Maria, looking forward to seeing your new post.
T...Maria, looking forward to seeing your new post.

Thanks for this thoughtful reply. Your words really got me here... "...between conservative and liberal Catholics (I hate using those descriptors)".

Those descriptors are the worst words in the language to me of late. They just divide when church, both Big C and little c is about unity.

Peace and prayers!St Edwards Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00585815864104929974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129501435638030796.post-42967347737292288812009-05-17T18:14:00.000-06:002009-05-17T18:14:00.000-06:00Hi Fran,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a com...Hi Fran,

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I've seen you around the blogosphere too.

I really love living here and I've been very fortunate to live here. We're starting to celebrate the City's 400th anniversary and I'm looking forward to it.

What I've noticed is that we tend to get hung up on who or who isn't a Catholic and it gets frustrating to see "real Catholic" defined and who exactly fits neatly and tightly into that definition. The Church I grew up in and the Church where I live welcomes everyone. In fact, that was recently the theme of a keynote speech at a Catechetical I was at a couple of weeks ago.

On top of the fighting between conservative and liberal Catholics (I hate using those descriptors), comments from anti-Catholics and the "former" Catholics always seem to make my skin crawl. I've never seen so much animosity before.

I wrote a really long reply to you but I'll post it later as a blog post.

Take care,
MariaMariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12743644644608446685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129501435638030796.post-73232207219936910852009-05-17T04:57:00.000-06:002009-05-17T04:57:00.000-06:00"So every now and then I go over and read Catholic..."So every now and then I go over and read Catholic forums. Yes, yes, I don't need to be told I'm a masochist. I should know better than to get involved in certain discussions."I can relate to that more than I care to admit.

Oh my!

I have seen you comment at Deacon's Bench and was just at Mhari's and now here, after all the challenging comments regarding who is a "real" Catholic or not.

Nice blog. And Santa Fe is one of my absolute favorite places in the world.

Peace,
FranSt Edwards Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00585815864104929974noreply@blogger.com
