There sure is great pain in not being able to "feel" his presence, but you have to know he is right there with you.

That Fran is pretty cool. I met her on the blogosphere. I have yet to meet her IRL but she is on the list of people I want to meet when I make it to East Coast.

I have to admit I enjoyed blogging here way back when. Life got busy a couple of years ago. I was falling in love in 2009, planning a wedding in 2010 and in 2011 learning how to be married. Other things have happened that have kept me away from writing about my faith and my fictional characters. I hope that this year, I find my way back. It's really good for the soul.

You know how these things go...looking for mananitas for la virgen de guadalupe and linked to a post from 2007 or 2008. I really liked it, so I looked to see if you were still writing the blog.

Hope you keep it up. I like your reflections and your links and that odd combination of sort of liberal politically but conservative and traditional about the church.

I've always said in so many words that "The Blessed Trinity" as far as I'm concerned could never accept two wrongs as making "One Right" but that's only my opinion and as far as sinner vic is concerned, he would love to debate "IT" and make a joke of the hole issue but while I'm still in charge of this flesh, he's going to have to bind his cells, destroy this world or have me locked UP in an asylum and I'm sure that many of today's so called Christians would be happy if that was done!

I bet you're right and they were taking every body they could during the war. I've actually never studied WWII history as well as I should have.

I really get upset when it comes to how GBLT people are treated in this country. It hurts to see them treated so badly by Christians. My mom and I were talking about some of her friends today who hold onto such old, archaic prejudices and sad it is. (I'm lucky for having parents of that generation who are so open minded and tolerant.)

I wonder if they would re-institute the draft?

I could be wrong, but I don't think this disqualified people from serving in WWII. I believe that at the time they were taking pretty much any warm body they could get.

Seriously speaking, they are citizens of this country. Our armed services protect us all. They have just as much of a right to defend this country as anyone else.

Of course, if they ever lifted "Don't ask, don't tell," and they re-instituted the draft, people might miss the loophole.

Thank you for your comment. I'm sorry you had to go through that experience. It makes me so mad that we have to talk about this stuff because the world isn't perfect.

I, too, think it's a good thing to talk to the students about. I'm glad they've changed too. I'm a bit nervous about the class because I think I might be leading it on my own this time, but the video we have is really outstanding and I'll do my best to facilitate a dialog with the students afterward. If I can be the one person a child can trust, I will be happy to be that person.
