God and Dog

One of my blogger friends posted this video to her parish blog and I thought I'd share this here, because it seems like we all love our animal companions, most especially our dogs. It touched me because this is exactly how I felt about Barkley. I always thought he was the perfect companion. I knew that God was also good and loving because he gave us such special creatures to share our lives with, to love them and have them love us. I will miss that dog every day of the rest of my life. I feel a little big guilty for already loving Ignatius as much as I do. He's a charming little puppy (all except for his puppy farts) and I know he's going to be a great, loving dog. He won't be Barkley but he'll be special.

Anyway, watch the video, and if your parish is blessing the animals this weekend, try to take them. I'm going to try to take mine.

Have A Little Faith

The Archdiocese of Washington blog had a wonderful post reminding us all about the joy of dogs. At the end was a video of a two-legged dogs named "Faith". Watch the video at the end. You'll smile, maybe cry happy tears but you will be amazed at this wonderful dog.

Still missing Barkley like crazy around the Casa de Maria but Estrella and I are doing ok. The vet's office called to say his ashes were ready for me to pick up last week. I have yet to get them, but will go tomorrow as I have to be in and around town tomorrow. For days Estrella didn't really talk to me nor did she want to eat, but I attribute some of that to the heat. Anyway, it will be better in time around here.

Estrella will lounge anywhere, even when the cover to her bed is being washed.

Update of Sorts

Psst, Jeff!

The Labradoodle went home last night. I got home after Mass last night and stopped by my parents' house and he was gone. The owner had picked him up. My mom was really, really sad too. She wanted to keep her. She told the owner that she'd like to have her and he said if he decides to give her up, he'll give her to my mom. :-(

She really is a sweet dog. Now, I must get dressed and go catch me a wild, Poodle Doodle. I guess their dog got out. Grr. He's not one who comes back either.
