The Death Penalty's demise. Governor Richardson signed the bill to repeal the death penalty in the state of New Mexico. Thank God for that. Since I was 16, I have been against Capital Punishment. When I was a junior in high school I had to write a paper for Junior Religion Class. I had no idea what Capital Punishment was at the time. Once I did my research and wrote my paper, which I received an A for, my mind was convinced, it was unjust, unfair and downright wrong. My father has long been against it, but I guess it was never dinner table conversation in my house growing up, because we only have discussed it in the last few years when we actually started talking politics in the house.
